After months of hard work bringing a brand-new wetland landscape to life, WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre is set to unveil its Estuary Shoreline attraction on Friday 9 May 2025.
Enhancing its already award-winning visitor experience with a new immersive and accessible outdoor space, Slimbridge's latest addition has been thoughtfully designed by its in-house Grounds Team to bring visitors even closer to nature.
Located right in front of the Kingfisher Restaurant, Estuary Shoreline offers space to relax, explore and connect with wetland wildlife, whether you're seeking a moment of peace, space to play or an alfresco lunch.
Start your journey by wandering through the moon gate towards the Estuary Tower — seizing the opportunity for a photo! — or taking a minute for reflection in the sunken mindfulness seating area.
Playful features include giant lily pad stepping stones and a tributary where children can play, while the new shoreline beach provides a place to unwind on a sunny day.
Estuary Shoreline has been created as an all-weather event space, designed for year-round dining at the water's edge, bringing visitors closer to nature whatever the weather.
Lush native plantings, woven willow artwork and stylish seating areas add an artistic touch to the space, with each element having been thoughtfully designed to reflect the richness of Slimbridge's wetland environment.
Estuary Shoreline opens at Slimbridge Wetland Centre on Friday 9 May 2025 and is included with general admission.
