A group of Gloucestershire artists have raised over £6,000 for local charity Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice during lockdown by painting portraits of dogs.
Artist Katharine Dove from Winchcombe’s Dove Gallery started the #dogsinlockdown initiative, recruiting artists from across the county to create custom ‘paw-traits’ of people’s four-legged pets. With the #dogsinlockdown team producing more than 200 paintings.
‘The funds will help to make sure we can continue to offer our compassionate palliative care and be there when it matters for families in Gloucestershire,’ Megan Platt, community fundraiser at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, said. ‘It could pay for around 300 hours of our expert care, helping people live the best life they possibly can.’
