Castle Combe in the Cotswolds has been awarded the title of the prettiest village in the UK.
The Cotswold location topped the list of 160 of the prettiest places across the UK, from quaint chocolate-box villages to colourful seaside towns.
The round-up from FBM Holidays evaluated a combination of the most Instagram hashtags, features, awards, National Trust sites and Google images – with Castle Combe coming out on top.
With no new houses having been built in the tiny Wiltshire village since the 1600s, the original Cotswold honey-coloured stone architecture is a real signature feature. The pretty village and its period buildings have even been used in TV shows such as Downton Abbey, Stardust and Poirot.
The Gloucestershire town Bibury also made the cut, ranking fifth.
