The Museum of Gloucester is inviting everyone in Gloucestershire to share their memories captured during the Coronavirus crisis, to form a timely exhibition entitled A Life in Lockdown.
Organisers want to capture and create both a printed record and digital collection of memories, and hope to display as many photos and videos as possible in the exhibition at The Museum of Gloucester in the autumn of 2020 – in addition to producing a permanent record of the period in their digital collection.
As well as getting the chance to have their submissions included in the exhibition, there will also be a small competition for children and young adults, and an overall People’s Choice award.
Anyone in the county interested in taking part is welcome to submit up to five images and / or a video taken during the lockdown period, from Friday 20 March 2020, for consideration.
‘It’s an opportunity to celebrate the diverse strengths and stories of our communities coming together and supporting each other during this time in history,’ Cllr Steve Morgan, cabinet member for culture and leisure at Gloucester City Council, said.
‘Not only that, but it enables us to more permanently acknowledge and thank everyone who saved lives, cared for others, and kept vital services going in such difficult circumstances, he added’
