The University of Gloucestershire is one of the highest climbers in the Good University Guide 2025 and ranked number one in Gloucestershire.

The University of Gloucestershire has revealed that it is one of just two universities in the UK to climb the most number of places in the prestigious university league table, published this September 2024.

The university has moved up 22 places in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025, gaining a place at number 90 in the overall ranking, up from 112 in 2023.

The only other university this year to climb so many places is Birmingham Newman University which rose 35 places to joint 90th with The University of Gloucestershire.

The Good University Guide is one of the most nationally respected publications for prospective students, providing young people and parents with essential information, results and statistics about universities across the UK.

Dame Clare Marchant, vice-chancellor of the University of Gloucestershire, said: 'We’re absolutely determined to create the best possible experience for our students, so we’re delighted to have progressed so far up the ratings in this important league table.

'As part of our ambitions to become a future-focused university, we’re creating vibrant campuses where students can benefit from the best possible learning experiences, fulfil their potential and gain the skills and knowledge they need for successful and rewarding careers.

'This 22-place rise in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025 league table is a testament to the positive impact we are having on student experience, so it gives a clear indication that our exciting plans are on track.'
