Already well established in cities across the UK and the around the globe, Uber offers an easily accessible taxi service to customers through a mobile app.
Gloucester residents can access Uber now by downloading the app, adding a payment method and confirming a destination.
The app will then connect to local drivers who will agree to pick them up from a selected starting location, with the money automatically taken at the end of the trip.
Different to traditional taxi services, Uber customers can confirm and lock in a price for their journey right at the beginning, meaning the fee will not rise due to traffic or other travel delays — often making it a much more affordable option.
