Ian Price and John Tooth have called the merger of Griffiths Marshall and Paish Tooth ‘a positive move’ for both firms.

Griffiths Marshall Advisory Group has completed the purchase of Paish Tooth Limited, the Cheltenham firm of accountants and tax advisors.

The deal has been hailed as ‘positive news’ by both sides for the clients and staff of Paish Tooth, who will now benefit from the added support and expertise of Griffiths Marshall.

It is understood the Cheltenham firm will initially operate as a stand-alone subsidiary of Griffiths Marshall, maintaining its existing branding, office and all of its existing 12 staff.

Ian Price, managing partner of Griffiths Marshall, which also has offices in Lydney, said: ‘I believe this acquisition will help us to support local businesses and individuals to an even greater degree than before.’

Price and Greg Lewis, two of Griffiths Marshall’s five directors, have now become directors of Paish Tooth, along with Paul Cox, who has been with Paish Tooth since 2007.

John Tooth, a director of the Cheltenham firm for 30-plus years, remains in his role on a part-time basis and said he was ‘confident’ the partnership would benefit both clients and staff.

Paish Tooth has provided accounting and specialist tax planning services to businesses and individuals throughout Gloucestershire and beyond for 40 years.

Griffiths Marshall handles all aspects of assurance, advisory and tax, as well as probate and wealth management services, acting for a wide range of clients from sole traders to multi-million-pound groups.
