SoGlos has been officially recognised as one the top three UK regional websites of the year at the Press Gazette Future of Media Awards 2024 — taking home the 'highly commended' accolade and being described as a 'brilliant example of sustainable journalism'.
The result follows rigorous judging from 33 industry experts to decide on the best in digital journalism from all over the world.
Celebrating world-leading innovations in digital journalism, the progressive Future of Media Awards considers entries for technical excellence, evidence of audience and commercial success and editorial brilliance.
SoGlos made the shortlist for Regional Website of the Year alongside The BV Magazine in Dorset - recognised as the overall category winner — and KentOnline which covers the county of Kent.
SoGlos editor Chloe Gorman said: 'We're on a mission to revolutionise regional media with a tech-first approach.
'The team behind SoGlos — Gloucestershire's leading media brand is proud to have been recognised for its excellence in digital news media, amongst some of the best media brands in the UK and worldwide.
'To be shortlisted in this global award category is a huge honour. We'll keep doing what we do best — delivering top class content for our loyal readers and championing just how great Gloucestershire is.'
Press Gazette editor-in-chief and chairman of judges, Dominic Ponsford, said: 'The finalists provide a snapshot of publishers who are lighting the way to a sustainable future for quality journalism in the digital age.'
The winners were revealed at the awards ceremony in London on Thursday 12 September 2024.
