Small rural businesses in the Tewkesbury borough can apply for grants of between £3,000 and £24,999 through the government's Rural England Prosperity Fund this summer 2024.
Tewkesbury Borough Council has been allocated £160,000 for the second round of the fund's business grant scheme, which aims to help rural businesses to improve productivity as well as strengthen the rural economy and communities.
The council says applications should focus on small scale investment in micro and small enterprises in rural areas, including capital funding for net zero infrastructure and the diversification of farm businesses outside of agriculture.
Example projects include the creation and expansion of rural leisure and tourism businesses; the purchase of equipment for food processing for non-farmer-owned businesses; and the adoption of productivity enhancing, energy efficient and low carbon technologies.
Applications are now open and will close at 9am on Monday 22 July 2024.
Chris Ashman, executive director of place at Tewkesbury Borough Council, said: 'Rural businesses in our borough have a great opportunity to benefit from this funding, helping them to grow, improve and diversify their commercial offering.
'Businesses have already
been successful in applying in round one, and we want to encourage more
businesses to submit applications while this funding is
available.'
More information about the scheme and how to apply can be found on the council's website.
