One of Gloucestershire's leading landscape gardening firms, Greenfields Ltd, has appointed a renowned garden designer to its senior team.
Experienced horticulturalist Laura Ashton-Phillips becomes Greenfields' new head of garden design and commercial manager, with a view to helping to shape the future of the firm's landscaping department.
Laura, who is based in the Forest of Dean, brings a wealth of horticulture knowledge to the company, both from her own business and from previous roles with local wildflower business Ecohab and as ground manager and garden designer for Gloucestershire NHS Hospitals.
The former head of a music education company, Laura re-discovered her passion for horticulture in 2021, studying remotely with the RHS before starting her own horticulture business, The Botanic Blonde.
In 2022, she had her first show garden at the RHS Malvern Spring Festival, where she won her first medal, before going on to win another two silver medals at the prestigious event in the years after.
Her RHS show gardens highlighting the beauty of native wildflowers and rewilding garden spaces have also featured on BBC's Gardeners' World, among other TV programmes.
Boasting long-standing relationships with local councils and many of the county's leading construction firms, Greenfields has served clients in Gloucestershire for more than 30 years, delivering a range of projects and services from landscaping and ground management, to playground development and wildlife habitat management.
The firm posted on LinkedIn following Laura's appointment: 'We’re excited to see how (Laura's) vision and expertise will shape the future of our projects.
'Here’s to new beginnings, big plans and the next chapter in creating beautiful, sustainable landscapes!'
