Projects, events and engagement strengthened at Cheltenham BID with two new management hires

Cheltenham BID receives a spring boost this April 2025 with the appointment of two new members of staff.

Cheltenham BID — the organisation which runs the town's business improvement district — has appointed two new managers to head up its projects, events and business engagement teams.

Jim Hugill joins as project and events manager and will lead Cheltenham BID’s initiatives, working closely with businesses to identify and implement projects that enhance the town.

Jim said: 'My role focuses on streamlining support for businesses, whether through public relations, improving the town’s environment or organising events that drive footfall.

'I’m excited to bring fresh ideas to Cheltenham, helping businesses thrive by increasing footfall and removing operational burdens.

'Whether through revitalising public spaces, enhancing promotions, or delivering engaging events, I’m passionate about making a meaningful difference.'

Jim's background is in project management and event planning where he worked in the circus industry and skateboarding sector.

James Bailey joins the BID as its new business engagement manager and will work on helping local businesses feel supported, represented and valued.

James said: 'My role revolves around gathering feedback to identify key challenges and opportunities, which helps shape and drive impactful BID initiatives.

'As a Cheltenham resident I am excited to work alongside the incredible business owners of the town, supporting their success and contributing to the growth and vibrancy of our wider community.'

James's background is in sales, marketing and hospitality with both startups and FTSE 50 companies.
