Leading global sound system manufacturer, Loudspeaker Technology Ltd, is moving into Stonehouse.
The company has taken the last available unit at Stroudwater 13 — a new 22,523 sq ft space — on a 10-year lease, marking the end of a £12 million investment phase by developer Robert Hitchins.
Founded in 1974 and currently headquartered at Aston Down, Loudspeaker Technology Ltd has a global reputation for its high-performance loudpeakers and electronics for the music industry, with its products having been used by world-famous bands including Pink Floyd and Supertramp.
Managing director Will Woodman said: 'We had been looking for a few years for a site to move our cabinet manufacture and warehousing to, and this proved the perfect opportunity due to its close proximity to our main site near Chalford.'
Senior development manager at Robert Hitchins, Mike Plimmer, added: 'The letting of Unit 1 marks the end of the first phase of Robert Hitchins’ considerable investment in new industrial development in Stonehouse.
'We have been really pleased with the rapid take-up of the new industrial space that we have built to date and it’s particularly rewarding to play a role in supporting such a great local company with international reach, providing them with accommodation that is fit for purpose and helps them to stay local.'
Stroudwater 13 — which adjoins the Stroudwater Business Park — is part of the Great Oldbury urban extension development, which also includes the construction of 1,300 homes, a new primary school, care centre and community facilities close to Junction 13 of the M5.
