The money raised for Sue Ryder at the SoGlos Gloucestershire Business Awards 2023 will go directly to the Leckhampton Court Hospice to help fund important palliative care for Gloucestershire patients.

For the first time this year, SoGlos hosted a special Golden Ticket Giveaway at the SoGlos Gloucestershire Business Awards 2023, giving guests the opportunity to not only take away a coveted winner's trophy on the night, but also be in with the chance of winning one of four incredible prize bundles donated by generous Gloucestershire businesses.

With tickets on sale for £10 each on the night, an amazing £3,050 was raised for SoGlos's Charity of the Year, the wonderful Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice — with 305 tickets sold in just two hours!

Matt Reay, community fundraising manager at Sue Ryder, said: 'We’d like to say a huge thank you to SoGlos for choosing Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice as their Charity of the Year and for supporting us through the SGGBA awards last night.

'We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank every local business who very kindly donated and of course to all those who purchased a ticket and helped to raise vital funds for the hospice. Big congratulations to all the nominees and category winners at what was a wonderful evening at the Gloucester South Community Fire and Rescue station.'

With each bundle worth over £1,500, prizes included everything from overnight stays and matchday hospitality to top tech and even a Christmas party.

Jon Bonnar, managing director of Cotswold Energy Group, was the winner of one of the coveted Golden Ticket bundles, as well as winning Growth Business of the Year 2023 at the awards night.

He said: 'I am delighted to see so much money raised for Sue Ryder and I'm really looking forward to the climbing experience trip with the family, the rugby hospitality with my friends… and the gin this evening!'

All the money raised from SoGlos's Golden Ticket Giveaway will go straight towards supporting the important work that Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice does for people in Gloucestershire, looking after patients at the end of their lives through expert palliative care and compassionate support.
