Newland Homes plans to build a new housing development on the site of the Daniels Industrial Estate in Stroud, after reaching an agreement with the landowner.
The Gloucester-based housebuilder plans to redevelop the seven-acre brownfield site with new low carbon homes, while retaining the existing Fern House Offices, Gate House and B&Q store. Newland Homes also plans to improve access and landscaping at the site.
There will be a public consultation before submitting a formal planning application in early 2021.
Land director at Newland Homes, Andrew Billings, said: ‘This parcel of land is crying out for redevelopment and investment, and as such has been the subject of much interest for a long time.
‘New homes in this sustainable location will also reduce the development pressure on greenfield sites outside of the town and provide homes close to essential services, such as shops and public transport.’
