In what it describes as a 'significant' appointment for its tax team, Gloucestershire-based accountancy firm Hazlewoods is welcoming Tom Verity as its newest corporate tax partner.
After studying economics at university and training with BDO, Tom worked in a variety of organisations before going on to head up the regional tax team at Ernst & Young LLP in Reading.
The firm says he brings a 'valuable perspective' to the Hazlewoods team as it continues to grow and strengthen its offering to clients.
Tom said he was 'drawn to Hazlewoods due to its strong reputation in the market, admirable client base and team of talented people located here in Cheltenham.'
Looking to take the next step in his career, Tom added: 'Alongside many factors, its excellent brand reputation, sector specialisms and talented people drew me to the firm. The enthusiasm of the tax team and the breadth and depth of knowledge we possess creates a great environment to work in and a compelling proposition for new and existing clients.'
Nick Haines, partner and leader of the tax team at Hazlewoods, said: 'With more than 540 people across four offices and a tax team of over 90 employees offering both corporate and private tax advice, we are one of the largest independent professional services firms in the south west and midlands.
'Recruiting Tom demonstrates our continued ambition to invest in our talent and infrastructure, so we are uniquely placed to support clients with excellence in our tax and advisory services.'
