A new leader at Persimmon Homes Wessex will bring fresh structure to the five-star builder for 2024.
John Gantlett has been appointed a new land and planning director and re-joins the firm after a spell at Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties where he was the land director.
In his new role, Gantlett will lead a team responsible for both the immediate and strategic land and planning for the company as well as partnership homes delivery throughout the Cotswolds including Wiltshire, Swindon, and Oxfordshire, as well as parts of Mendip, Bath and North-East Somerset.
Gantlett originally joined the industry as a development trainee and progressed to land manager within the Wessex business.
He said: 'I am really excited to be returning to Persimmon in my new role with extra responsibilities, expanding on my past achievements and the experience I have gained since to contribute to the continuing success of the Wessex region.
'Persimmon continues to go from strength to strength as a five-star builder as we implement positive changes in all areas of our business, while ensuring we continue to deliver quality homes for local people.
'The demand for new housing in the areas we serve is pressing, and I look forward to ensuring Persimmon continues to identify and deliver opportunities which provide quality homes for local people across the region.'
Managing director of Persimmon Homes Wessex, Julian Roper, added: 'With his experience in the housing industry and the way he impressed us last time he was at Persimmon, we’re delighted to have John Gantlett back in his new position and look forward to seeing him make the role his own.
'Gantlett will lead our excellent land and planning teams as the Wessex business looks forward to continuing to deliver high quality homes across our region.'
