Gloucester-based events firm Freemans Event Partners has appointed a new CEO as it looks to expand its scope both in the UK and overseas.

Celebrating its 50th year in business, the family firm is looking to the future with the appointment of Matt Luscombe as its new Chief Executive Officer, with current CEO Stephen Freeman pivoting into a new role as executive chairman.

Established in 1975, Freemans Event Partners now provides a range of solutions for world-renowned events at iconic UK venues like Silverstone, Wembley Stadium and Lord's, in areas including food and beverage, sustainability and commercial partnerships.

With a track record of leading and growing international businesses, including as chief commercial officer at InterContinental Hotels Group, Freemans says Matt brings expertise in scaling operations globally and driving revenue growth.

In his new role, he will implement strategic initiatives to drive the company towards its goal of achieving £200 million in turnover in the coming years.

Stephen Freeman will remain closely involved in the business in his new role, working with Matt on the company’s five-year strategy and leading 'international growth, investment and driving innovation in the sector'.

Matt said: 'I’m delighted to be taking the reins and steering such an exciting company as it embarks on its next phase of expansion.

'The growth the family business and the wider team have achieved under Stephen’s stewardship is truly remarkable and has established Freemans Event Partners as a leader in the events sector. It’s an honour to be tasked with leading the company’s next phase of growth.

Stephen added: 'We have done a terrific job over the last decade or so, positioning Freemans Event Partners at the forefront of the biggest events and venues in the UK.

'I am immensely proud of the business we have built, but am equally excited about this next chapter, as we embark on further domestic and international expansion.'
