Constructing Excellence Gloucestershire’s annual conference was back this week, after the pandemic put paid to the live event post 2019 – with an estimated 150 delegates attending.
A must for almost everyone who is anyone in construction in the county, the event is a chance for face-to-face networking, to renew valuable contacts, to tempt people into the sector, shout about achievements and to hear talks from key figures.
Jonathan White, chairman of the county branch of the national group and a senior associate at Gloucester-headquartered architects Quattro, said: ‘It’s great to be back. We have been waiting for this and planning for two years, and it is great to see so many people here from the construction sector in the county and beyond.
‘The group and the sector has grown in Gloucestershire out of collaboration, from legal firms, accountants and surveyors to construction firms, architects and other specialists who all make it so vibrant and supportive.
‘What is great is to see many of the county’s educators here too, who do so much to attract in and train the next generation which is so important for all our businesses.’
The event was staged at the University of Gloucestershire’s School of Business and Technology on Wednesday 22 June 2022 and attracted businesses and organisations including EG Carter, Kier, Barnwood, AccXel and Gloucestershire College.
