Two human resources firms from Gloucestershire have announced a merger that will deliver more expertise for their clients and growth for their own business.

HR People Support has joined forces with Charlton HR, bringing together expertise across the financial services, technology and not for profit sectors.

Both will now trade under the HR People Support brand, a business founded by Sarah Cook in 2018 and which has been growing steadily through the pandemic.

‘The move is an exciting one for our clients, our teams and for the future of the business,’ said Mr Hickey, who will continue to work for the business as an executive director with responsibility for strategic HR, organisational development and training.

Ms Cook, managing director of HR People Support, said: ‘We are creating a platform to enable our teams to learn from each other, whilst enabling our business to grow. I am looking forward to working with Chris, meeting and building relationships with Charlton HR’s clients and the team.

‘All clients can expect continued relationship management from their current contact. I am very excited about the future of the business.’

The company will be based in Charlton HR’s offices in Cheltenham, with its new team of seven staff aiming to build on its already 90-strong client base.

Mr Hickey founded Charlton HR in 1999, with the business building a reputation for helping small and medium sized enterprises. In 2019 the firm purchased well-known Gloucestershire based HR firm HRML.
