As part of accountancy firm Bishop Fleming's ambitious expansion plans, it brings its services to Gloucestershire with the opening of a new office in Regency Cheltenham.

Bishop Fleming, a leading accountancy firm with offices across the south west and the West Midlands, has opened its first Gloucestershire office, on the site of the Grade II listed Regency Chapel Spa on North Place in Cheltenham.

The former 19th-century chapel at 10 North Place was built in 1816, with a portico added in 1865. The building has undergone extensive external and internal renovations to get the space ready for Bishop Fleming, taking it from a Regency non-conformist chapel and, later, health spa to a modern, collaborative space for over 60 staff.

The firm has a 100-year history, with future plans to double the number of staff in its new Cheltenham office — its eighth in the UK — with an ambitious recruitment drive over the next three years.

Bishop Fleming partner, Gary Woodhall, said: 'It had been a strategic aim of the firm for several years to bridge the gap between our Bristol and Worcester offices and Cheltenham was the obvious choice.

'We had an opportunity to acquire a local practice where there was a great cultural and professional fit, and we took it. Gloucestershire has a dynamic and thriving business community, and we want to be an integral part of it, supporting the growth of the region and those individuals and businesses who call this county home.

'We’re fortunate enough to already work with some amazing organisations and look forward to working with many more. With this growth also comes the opportunity to expand our team and lean into the incredible talent the area has.'

Bishop Fleming has experienced impressive growth in recent years, with revenue increasing by over 15 per cent last year alone, bringing in a turnover of nearly £40 million and a total staff count of 500.

It has also been recognised as a Great Place to Work and Great Place to Work 'Best Workplaces for Women' in 2023, with a prominent spot on the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers list, too.

Tax partner, Stella Field, said of its recruitment plans: 'At Bishop Fleming, we are looking for talented individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional, relationship-led client service and want to be part of our exciting plans for the future. We are proud of our supportive and inclusive work environment and our recent accolades.'

Offering a diverse range of accountancy and advisory services across a wide range of sectors, Bishop Fleming caters for individuals, entrepreneurs, not-for-profits, SMEs, public sector organisations and larger corporate businesses, among many others.
