British outdoor clothing and accessories brand Berghaus is opening its new store at Gloucester Quays on Thursday 12 September 2024.
Set to be only the brand's second standalone shop in the UK, the new Berghaus store will cater for a range of outdoor activities including walking, mountaineering and climbing, with a wide selection of clothing, footwear and equipment for both men and women.
The brand has brought a minimalist design inspired by the natural environment to a 2,117 sq ft space opposite Adidas at the shopping centre.
The shop's exterior is set to feature life-like foliage, complemented by wooden furniture and metal finishes with a weather-worn look inside the store, while its changing rooms will feature a 360-degree landscape design inspired by the local countryside.
The Gloucester store is the brand's first to experiment with its new 'premium' retail concept, which it hopes to expand further in 2025.
A certified B-Corp, Berghaus demonstrates a focus on sustainability by offering a lifetime guarantee and complimentary repair service on all its clothing products.
It joins other outdoor brands like Trespass, Mountain Warehouse and The North Face at the Quays, with owner Peel Retail & Leisure describing the opening as another 'landmark signing' for the shopping centre.
Paul Carter, asset director at Peel Retail & Leisure, commented: 'Gloucester Quays has always performed well in the outdoor clothing and accessories space, and clearly Berghaus agree given this will be just their second standalone store.
'Adding Berghaus to our impressive line-up of outdoor brands demonstrates our commitment to responding to our customers’ needs and wants, as well as an ability to attract brands that lead in their field.'
Adam Gill, head of sales UK & Ireland for Berghaus owner Pentland Brands, added: 'Berghaus is delighted to be signing at Gloucester Quays. It’s a premier UK outlet and the historic architecture makes it a beautiful place.
'It’s a great location for Berghaus in the south west, alongside other
top brands.'
