Gloucestershire small business, Tallow + Ash, is a independent brand on a mission to 'elevate laundry' and 'make every wash load something to look forward to' — and its journey has been moving from strength to strength since its first product launch in spring 2023.
Its founder, Ciara McGurk, headed for the bright lights of Las Vegas in June 2023 to pitch for an investment from BrewDog co-founder James Watt, before the brand became the most Googled laundry brand in the UK and she was named the south west's Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2024.
And there's no signs of slowing down, with Tallow + Ash being accepted on to Tesco's Accelerator programme, meaning its perfume-inspired laundry products will soon be able to be found on the supermarkets shelves.
The Tallow + Ash team announced the news via Instagram, thanking followers for their participation in research six months ago — with almost 6,000 people in 24 hours commenting that 'they'd love' to pick up Tallow + Ash in their local supermarket.
The launch date and full product list is still to be announced, but shoppers from Gloucestershire and beyond will be able to pick up Tallow + Ash products with their weekly groceries, as the Tesco Accelerator programme exists to nurture and develop small businesses and 'bring something different and exciting to the UK public'.
Ahead of the brand's launch at Tesco, the full range of products — which includes laundry shampoos, conditioners, fabric sprays and stain removers — is available online via the Tallow + Ash website.
