Corporate partnerships can have a transformative impact on local charities — and this year, SoGlos is supporting the county's largest youth work charity, Young Gloucestershire, as our official Charity of the Year for 2025.

Every year, Young Gloucestershire supports thousands of young people to navigate challenges and change their futures, from helping them to build skills and gain qualifications, to providing practical, therapeutic and emotional support.

The charity also works closely with a network of partners and mentors to help give young people a voice in their community and supports families to create a strong unit around young people in need.

There are plenty of ways for local businesses to get involved with its important work to support young people through difficult times — while reaping all kinds of valuable benefits, too.

How can businesses support Young Gloucestershire?

Fundraising

Young Gloucestershire relies on corporate fundraising to carry out its vital work, whether you want to get creative with your own fundraising efforts or donate directly to its programmes.

Just £1,000 can fund six months of one-to-one counselling support for a young person; while for the most ambitious fundraisers, £50,000 covers the cost of a full-time counsellor or mental health youth worker who could help change the lives of more than 40 young people.

Annual events

As well as organising your own fundraising activities, Young Gloucesterhsire offers a calendar of different events to get involved in each year — from running the Gloucester Half Marathon, leaping 15,000 feet out of a plane, or conquering the National Three Peaks Challenge in 2025.

Sharing knowledge

Businesses can also lend skills, knowledge and resources to help Young Gloucestershire build brighter futures for young people in the county. From sharing industry insights to offering work placements and interview practice, corporate partners can help the charity on its mission to bridge the gap between education and employment.

How can your business benefit from supporting Young Gloucestershire?

In return for your support, Young Gloucestershire offers a host of benefits for corporate partners, including mentoring opportunities and training to connect employees with young people and boost their professional development.

The charity also provides the resources to help businesses prioritise mental health in the workplace, through Mental Health First Aid Training and Gender Diversity Training.

Plus, there's chances to connect with other businesspeople and expand your reach locally, with opportunities to meet other corporate partners and community leaders.
