This November 2024, digital currency Bitcoin hit an all time high value of £76,619.

One of its fans is sales director at Hobbs House BakeryHenry Herbert, who has used the cryptocurrency as a form of payment for his monthly feasts in Nailsworth for six months.

As curiosity in the digital asset grows, he's now partnered with London firm Musqet which has integrated Bitcoin payments into a regular payment terminal. It means it's easier than ever for customers to pay him in Bitcoin.

He recently trialled the new debit, credit, contactless and Bitcoin payment terminal at a pop-up event in Bristol with great success. And it makes him excited about the future.

Henry, who lives in Nailsworth, said: 'This enables me to take Bitcoin payments with one terminal. It is so easy to accept payment. And the best thing is the money hits my account at point of sale rather than in three days with the traditional payment providers.

'I will be using it at Feast with Henry Herbert and working on Hobbs House Bakery to also adopt. It's time for people to join this peaceful revolution.'

Hobbs House Bakery has stores in Nailsworth, Chipping Sodbury and Tetbury in Gloucestershire as well as Gloucester Road in Bristol.

Henry believes accepting Bitcoin payments could make a real difference to the bakery.

He said: 'With the Bitcoin hitting an all time high on an almost daily basis, the narrative around Bitcoin is changing.

'America is starting to talk about having a strategic Bitcoin reserve.

'Whatever your views on this new technology is, it is here to stay and the sooner we embrace it and start using it in our business lives the better.

'I have been accepting Bitcoin at my monthly Feast with Henry Herbert for six months now. Up until recently, I have used Zettle by PayPal for regular payments and an app on my phone for Bitcoin.

'Well, no more. I am thrilled to have a Musqet terminal that can process both pounds and Bitcoin on the same device. This is a real game changer as it makes it super easy and accessible and all other customers will see the option to pay in Bitcoin — we are no longer in the shadows.

'My next plan will be trying to get my Hobbs House Bakery to start accepting Bitcoin as a payment.'

He is buoyed up by how easy the digital technology process is becoming.

Henry added: 'I recently went to the Bristol BWest bitcoin conference and sold 100 pastries and cakes in Bitcoin to Bitcoin holders in Bristol.

'I was amazed by how many people living locally hold Bitcoin and are willing to start using as a method of payment.

'This is another customer base that is looking for places to spend, so it makes sense, especially in these difficult economic periods to find ways to appeal to more customers.

'Musqet is making this so much easier and it gets me very excited to see how this changes the shopping landscape in the UK going forward.'
