Gloucester-based housebuilder, Newland Homes, has appointed a new contracts manager as Jason Knight joins the team from Bellway.
Knight takes over from the recently-retired Dale Martin and describes the role as his 'forever job'.
He has an extensive background in residential construction and was formerly the construction manager for Bellway developments across the south west region. Newland Homes hopes his appointment will strengthen the connection between its site teams and its Barnwood head office.
Newland Homes features in SoGlos's Top 100 Businesses in Gloucestershire and employs around 77 staff, nearly a third of whom have worked with the company for 10 years or more.
Knight said: 'Newland Homes has a great reputation within the industry for its quality product and respectful working practices. Staff turnover is extremely low and there’s a constancy of management that you don’t see at other housebuilders.
'A friend joked that you only get to work at Newland Homes if somebody retires! This is my forever job and I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the projects.'
Newland Homes's associate construction director, Ian Hughes, who has been with the company for 15 years, added: 'We singled out Jason as we knew he would be a great fit for the team.'
The company describes itself as a 'climate considerate housebuilder' and is behind eight carbon zero housing developments across Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, including the Pear Trees development of five-bedroom homes on Kidnappers Lane in Leckhampton and The Limes, a collection of 45 new homes in Tetbury.
