Barnwood-based commercial refurbishment firm, Inndecs, has won the contract to fit out the newest restaurant set to open on Cheltenham's foodie scene.

Japes, a popular London pizza chain with restaurants in Camden, Soho and Greenwich, is known for its Chicago-style deep dish pizzas.

The chain has taken over the former Santiago's tapas bar on The Promenade for its first location outside of London, with renovation work due to start in November 2024.

Inndecs, a family-run business with three siblings at the helm, is also the firm behind the refurbishment of popular Gloucestershire venues such as Stratton House Hotel in Cirencester, Hilton Puckrup Hall in Tewkesbury and The Lansdown pub in Cheltenham.

Melissa Potente, managing director of both Inndecs and its sister company, Meliora — a residential renovation specialist firm — said: 'Inndecs is delighted to have been awarded this contract for Japes, a popular London pizza chain.

'Inndecs will be bringing the Japes 'taste of joy' to Cheltenham and works start on-site Monday 18 November 2024.'

The new pizza restaurant is set to open in mid-December.
