Following the success of the 2022 event, SoGlos and Optimising IT's Gloucestershire Corporate Golf Day returns to Brickhampton Court Golf Complex for its second year this September 2023.
Co-hosted by SoGlos and the Gloucester-based managed IT expert, businesspeople from across the county are invited to the popular golf destination in Churchdown to take part in a variety of fun challenges and network with representatives from local companies.
Last year's event saw participants get some top tips from PGA pros on the driving range and green before 'putting' their skills to the test. Guests were also treated to a tasty lunch at on-site restaurant, Nineteen at Brickhampton.
A certified B Corp, Optimising IT is based at Twigworth Court Business Centre near Gloucester and offers a range of award-winning services from managed IT to cyber security, including its unique Climate Conscious IT service. It also became an assured service provider for Cyber Essentials in July 2023.
Speaking about last year's event, Geoff Smith from Optimising IT said: ‘It has been great fun. For us, there was a serious element too... like everything we do, it is important this is meaningful and of benefit to us and the community we live and work in.
‘We are already working with a lot of charities and sports clubs, but we do not just want to sponsor something and stand back. We want to be part of our community and make things happen.
‘Today was about getting people together, meeting new people from some of the incredible companies that we have here in Gloucestershire. If business comes from that, now or at some point in the future, then that is great as well, but today was about building relationships and making new friends.’
The golf day follows on from the second Gloucestershire Corporate Shooting Day, co-hosted by SoGlos and Cheltenham-based accountant Crowe, which took place at Ian Coley Sporting in June 2023.
Like its shooting counterpart, this year's golf event welcomes complete beginners alongside experienced players and promises to be a highlight in the corporate calendar, giving teams a chance to enjoy a day out of the office in the glorious Gloucestershire countryside, as well as opportunities to network and get to know likeminded colleagues from some of the county's top businesses.
