PR Week’s 30 under 30 list celebrates the next generation of bright young talent in the UK PR industry, recognising high performing professionals from agency and in-house roles across the sector.
Abbie-Jaye Wilson, who lives in Gloucester and works for Pic PR, a communications agency near Tewkesbury, has been recognised in this year’s PR Week 30 under 30 list.
It comes just a month after Wilson was promoted to managing director of the county firm, which has 26 staff and delivers PR, video, photography, social media, copy and design to a diverse range of businesses.
The recognition tops a successful period for the agency, which has won 16 industry awards in the past year and credits Wilson with ‘playing a central role in this success’, something also recognised by the judges at PR Week.
Wilson said: ‘I’m both delighted and humbled to be recognised in this year’s PR Week 30 under 30 list. Within the industry it’s seen as a true marker for talent and to see myself included alongside others who are doing some really incredible things in the sector is an amazing feeling.’
Wilson began her career as a videographer, helping to promote Gloucestershire-based businesses as part of her work with The Growth Hub in Longlevens, Gloucester, before joining Pic PR six years ago to take on a broader communications role.
David Barrett, chief executive officer of Pic PR, said: ‘Abbie has been outstanding since she joined Pic PR. She’s passionate and driven, and really cares about what we’re looking to do and that’s been evident from day one.
‘We’re all incredibly proud of what she’s achieved so far and being recognised by her industry peers just serves to underline what we’ve all known for so long. A huge well done and a big thank you to her for her endeavours. We’re absolutely thrilled for her.’
