Getting Gloucestershire's business leaders out of the office and on to the shooting range, SoGlos hosted the Gloucestershire Business Shooting Day, in partnership with Crowe, on Thursday 28 June 2024.
Taking place at the prestigious Ian Coley Sporting on the outskirts of Cheltenham, business owners, founders, CEOs and managing directors swapped their day jobs for a morning or afternoon out in the Gloucestershire countryside, trying their hand at shooting clays under the watchful guidance of Ian Coley's expert instructors.
While some participants arrived armed with their own guns, mixed teams allowed for fair play and plenty of opportunity to network throughout the day, while adding an element of competition — with medals up for grabs for both sessions.
In the morning, Marc Begg from Cirencester Fabrication Services and Steven Munnoch from Avon Metals took third and second place respectively with 16 hits out of 20, while Charles Purves from Close Brothers Asset Management took the top spot, missing just one shot.
Then the afternoon's session saw Paul Howells from Aqua Construction and Mark Price from Vitruvius take places on the podium, with SoGlos's very own managing director, James Fyrne, taking the top spot.
Representatives from Crowe included head of private client Nick Latimer; audit partner Chris Mould; tax partner Sue Daye; and corporate tax partner Paul Cox, showcasing the wealth of services Crowe offers and championing the Gloucestershire businesses it works with.
LinkedIn was abuzz with new connections and friendly banter after the event, with a good time had by all.
