Optimising IT has been named an assured service provider for Cyber Essentials by the National Cyber Security Centre.

This means the Gloucester-based IT support services provider is verified to offer qualified, assured advice on meeting the Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus standards, as well as providing the services needed to implement changes or improvements to meet these standards.

The government-backed Cyber Essentials initiative aims to protect organisations of all sizes from common cyber attacks — and recognises the businesses which demonstrate a commitment to cyber security and the expertise to help organisations meet and surpass these standards as assured service providers.

Managing director of Optimising IT, Todd Gifford, said: 'We’re delighted to announce that we are now certified Cyber Advisors. Our latest accreditation adds to a number of other certifications including ISO 9001 and ISO 27001, that we have worked hard to achieve, and maintain.

'This accreditation shows our commitment to upholding best practices, and our dedication to ongoing professional development which has been recognised by the highest authority on cyber security in the UK.'
