Gloucester-based sports nutrition specialist, Nutrition X, announces a milestone partnership with one of the world's best known professional cycling teams.

The brand, headquartered in Hardwicke, is the official nutrition partner of leading sports clubs and athletes from across the globe — supplying 75 per cent of Premier League teams and 80 per cent of Premiership Rugby teams with its scientifically-formulated supplements.

Yet another big name has been added to its roster this January 2025, with the INEOS Grenadiers cycling team — formerly Team Sky, which famously won the Tour De France seven times in eight years with British winners Sir Bradley Wiggins, Chris Froome and Geraint Thomas — signing a three year deal with the Gloucester firm.

Acquired by former University of Gloucestershire student James Markey in 2014, Nutrition X and its family of world leading professors has developed 'one of the most scientifically backed' sports nutrition ranges on the market over the last decade, providing everything from protein and energy shots to vitamins and recovery shakes, tailored to the range of sports it supplies.

The business has gone from strength to strength in recent years with James's wife, Naomi Christiansen, joining as joint director in 2021. Nutrition X is now the official nutrition partner of the likes of Ipswich Town FC, Sheffield Wednesday, Munster Rugby, Bath Rugby, Gloucester Rugby and England Rugby League, to name but a few.

The partnership with the INEOS Grenadiers will see Nutrition X deliver bespoke nutrition support to its riders throughout the UCI WorldTour calendar, working closely with the team to aid health and recovery through its provision of targeted sports supplements.

Director Naomi Christiansen said: 'We are beyond thrilled to have secured such an exciting partnership with what is undoubtedly one of the greatest global cycling teams competing at an elite level.'

Scott Drawer, performance director at INEOS Grenadiers, commented: 'NX are a cool, fast moving, evidence-based nutrition company who will support our riders needs in recovery and health support.

'We love their willingness to innovate in the development of new and novel supplement provision. Their current portfolio of products will meet some of the functional needs we have when riders are off bike and are ‘resting’ hard to get themselves ready to train and ready to race.'
