Gloucester-based, national construction company Barnwood Limited announces the appointment of a new managing director to lead its shop fitting and interiors division, this October 2024.
Chris Preece, who has been with the company for more than a decade, will oversee operations for all of the company's shop fitting and interiors projects across the UK in his new role.
He takes over leadership of the division from Simon Carey, who will focus on his responsibilities as group CEO, supporting all three of Barnwood's divisions.
Chris joined Barnwood as a contracts manager in 2014, progressing into the roles of senior account manager in 2018; head of contracts in 2021; and contracts director in 2023.
The firm says his 'extensive' experience and leadership have been 'instrumental' to the growth of the shop fitting and interiors division, building on the foundations laid by Chris Gabb, who set up the division in 1971 and was integral to making it a national success.
'Over the years, Chris Preece has developed a thorough understanding of our operations, culture, and client expectations, making him the perfect fit to lead us into the next phase', Barnwood said in a statement.
'We are confident that under Chris's leadership, the division will continue to thrive and push forward, delivering the high standards and exceptional value our clients have come to expect.'
Chris posted to LinkedIn following his appointment: 'I am deeply grateful to my colleagues at Barnwood Limited for their unwavering support and trust, and I look forward to our continued success together.'
With roots dating back to 1962, Barnwood is known for delivering a range of impressive commercial projects across its construction, shop fitting and interiors and general works divisions, in Gloucestershire and across the UK.
