A real success story for women in Gloucestershire's legal sector, Willans LLP solicitors has announced the promotion of 11 lawyers across its Cheltenham firm.
This includes the appointment of three new partners in its wills, trusts and probate and residential property divisions, strengthening its leadership team.
Laura Stone is promoted to partner in Willans' expert wills, trusts and probate team, which is one of the largest in the region. Her appointment brings the partner count in this department to four — and the total number of partners across the firm to 19.
In the residential property team, Hilary Banister is promoted to partner, with Mary Young promoted to partner, chartered legal executive.
Eight more lawyers have advanced to the next level, with Jennifer Cockett and Janine Guthrie both promoted to senior associate within the wills, trusts & probate team; and Helen Howes, Katie Duthie, Charlotte Cowdell and Emma Thompson all stepping up to senior associate roles in the corporate and commercial, dispute resolution, and real estate teams respectively.
Meanwhile, licensed conveyancer Tina Caster is promoted to associate in the residential property team; and in the dispute resolution department, chartered legal executive Megan Bullingham is promoted to associate.
Bridget Redmond, managing partner at Willans, said: 'It’s a pleasure to congratulate our brilliant lawyers on their well-deserved promotions. Each displays the qualities that are at the core of our firm — outstanding legal expertise and real client focus. We look forward to watching them all progress further in their careers at Willans.'
One of the county's leading law firms, with over 100 people employed at its Cheltenham offices, Willans has assisted local, national and overseas businesses, people, charities and not-for-profit organisations with practical and personal legal matters for over 75 years.
As well as celebrating 11 promotions across its Chambers UK and Legal 500-rated teams in 2024, it's also recently achieved Lexcel accreditation for the 16th consecutive year — an accolade awarded only to the UK's top firms.
