In a bid to spread festive cheer to good initiatives across Gloucestershire, Ecclesiastical Insurance is giving 120 charities a £1,000 donation as part of Benefact Group's Movement for Good campaign, this Christmas 2023.
Nominations are now open, with Gloucestershire registered charities in with a chance of winning a donation.
For 12 days, every weekday between Friday 1 and Monday 18 December 2023, Ecclesiastical Insurance will announce 10 charities per day, which have been selected to receive a donation.
Recipients from Gloucestershire last year included the Hollie Gazzard Trust, The Friends of Gloucestershire Cathedral and Gloucestershire Deaf Association, after Ecclesiastical received nominations for 7,100 different charities from 140,000 individuals all over the UK.
Group CEO of Ecclesiastical, Mark Hews, said: ‘Our annual 12 days of giving Christmas campaign will help charities change lives for the better and we know that for many charities, £1,000 can make a real difference.
‘We’re encouraging everyone to nominate a cause close to their hearts this Christmas to be in for a chance to win a festive financial boost.’
Former recipient, Bob Purcell from Gloucester Athletics Track Management, said: ‘We are a small charity run entirely by volunteers which manages and maintains our local athletics track. Our top priority is that our track is fully accessible for athletes with a disability.
‘Para-athletes often find it much more expensive to engage in sport and the grant from Ecclesiastical has helped us purchase new items and to maintain our fleet of racing wheelchairs, racerunners, and other equipment.’
Anyone wishing to nominate a charity for this year can do so on Ecclesiastical’s website until Sunday 17 December 2023.
