Exemplifying its mission to amplify Gloucestershire's phenomenal business success, SoGlos has uniquely crafted the definitive list of the Top 100 Businesses in Gloucestershire for the second year.
Building on the success of the inaugural Top 100 Businesses in Gloucestershire 2023, mark your calendars, with this year's Top 100 being revealed on Thursday 20 June 2024 — with SoGlos members having the first opportunity to see this year's definitive list, which will be exclusively sent to Business newsletter subscribers, before being published on the online magazine and SoGlos's Linked In channel.
Created in partnership with Cheltenham-based accountants Bishop Fleming and The Growth Hub, SoGlos's Top 100 uses a robust methodology with all Gloucestershire businesses unequivocally ranked by turnover. Details have also been included around staff numbers, apprenticeship opportunities and charitable initiatives — as a recognition for organisations doing valuable work to contribute to the county's jobs market and community spirit.
Companies must have a recognised headquarters in the county to qualify, with turnover data researched directly from Companies House — with the Top 100 spanning turnovers in the region of £20 million up to over £1 billion, with staff numbers ranging from as few as 20 up to several thousand.
Michelle Fyrne, CEO of SoPublishing, said: 'Creating The Top 100 Businesses list has been a painstaking endeavour, with some surprising revelations unearthed during our journalists' meticulous research — with some significant ascents and descents compared with last year's Top 100.
'We are passionate about championing the diversity of Gloucestershire's business community at SoGlos and regularly celebrate ambitious start-ups and independent sole traders, through to innovative industry disruptors, however SoGlos's Top 100 allows us to really celebrate the phenomenal business powerhouses who represent Gloucestershire's thriving commercial success on a global scale.’
Dev Chakraborty, head of the growth and enterprise team at The Growth Hub, said: 'Flying the flag for Gloucestershire businesses is something The Growth Hub is extremely passionate about — and we’re proud to once again be partnering with the SoGlos Top 100.
'Having such successful companies in the county makes Gloucestershire a great place to live, work and do business; and we look forward to seeing the big reveal in June!'
Bishop Fleming's audit partner and head of charities and non-profit, David Butler, added: 'We are proud to be a part of this business community and to play a role in fostering economic growth and providing career opportunities in the region, alongside others on the list.
'We look forward to developing more relationships across a diverse range of sectors.'
