CloudClevr — an IT and communications company based in Coventry — has acquired Cheltenham-based Bamboo Technology Group.
Bamboo Technology Group is CloudClevr's third strategic investment and its first in the south west, with the business joining fellow recent acquisitions NGC Networks in Wakefield and 4Sight Communications in Sutton, giving CloudClevr a significant boost to its geographical coverage and scale.
It hopes the move will cement CloudClevr's position as a next-generation managed services provider.
The acquisition sees CloudClevr CEO, Steve Harris, take on the CEO role at Bamboo, too — with former CEO Lorrin White and founder Stuart Davis staying on in an advisory capacity.
Stuart said: 'It is clear that there is a very strong cultural and strategic fit between CloudClevr and Bamboo. I am pleased that the business will continue to thrive under new leadership and as part of the CloudClevr group.
'I am looking forward to working with Steve and the team as Bamboo and CloudClevr enter this exciting period of growth.'
Steve added: 'I am delighted to welcome the Bamboo team into CloudClevr and will look to support the existing leadership team to continue to grow the business. Bamboo brings key complementary capabilities and additional scale to the CloudClevr group that further underpins our deep technical capability across a truly converged portfolio.'
While Lorrin said in a Linkedin post announcing the news that she was extending 'the hugest virtual hug of gratitude to everyone involved in my journey' from admin assistant in 2002 to the acquisition in 2024 — and hinted at exciting plans for the future.
