Swift progress has already been made on CityFibre’s Gloucester-wide rollout this year, with the Gloucester City Homes partnership ensuring social housing tenants will benefit too.

CityFibre is investing £31m to bring Gloucester faster and more reliable digital connectivity – and has made quick progress on the city-wide rollout since January 2021 across Podsmead, Quedgeley and Tuffley.

And now Gloucester City Homes has partnered up with CityFibre, ensuring the project will reach social housing sites, as well as other homes and businesses within the area.

The new Full Fibre network offers near unlimited bandwidth, so households can utilise the latest smart home technology, stream entertainment across multiple devices and make it easier to work from home, without the buffering and lagging that many experience currently.

Neil Madle, CityFibre’s city manager for Gloucester said: ‘This agreement with Gloucester City Homes will help us to take the next step forward in the digital transformation of the city, making it one of the best-connected in the country.’

The network is not live in Gloucester just yet, but once it is activated, services will be available from an increasing range of broadband providers including Vodafone and TalkTalk.
