PoloWorks in Cheltenham has been named in the 2024 list of the UK's Best Workplaces for Women.

A Cheltenham-based insurance services firm has been named in the 2024 UK’s Best Workplaces for Women™ list.

Leading Lloyds and London Market insurance services firm, PoloWorks, made the list of just 330 organisations, recognising its ongoing commitment to inclusivity and empowerment.

Great Place To Work® is the global authority on company culture, with its list of Best Workplaces for Women™ being comprised of employers who have shown that their workplace is safe, inclusive and equitable for all, with a good gender balance across the organisation and no barriers to women's career advancement.

In its recent colleague engagement survey, 91 per cent of PoloWorks employees said that gender doesn't affect how they're treated at work; and that the company has created an environment where female colleagues feel 'supported and valued' as well as empowered to grow.

PoloWorks offers several initiatives designed to benefit female colleagues, from flexible and hybrid working; enhanced maternity pay; comprehensive equality, diversity and inclusion policies; to support for those going through menopause.

The company also supports women's career development, with 'robust learning and development opportunities' for all employees. It recently enrolled its first colleague in the Lloyds Advance Programme, too, which improves the career progression of women in the insurance industry who have been identified as future leaders.

Head of people at PoloWorks, Harriet Mathew, said: 'Being named a UK’s Best Workplace for Women™ is an achievement that reflects our commitment to fostering an inclusive and empowering workplace. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team in building a supportive and equitable culture.'

Great Places To Work UK's managing director, Benedict Gautrey, added: 'Workplaces are only great if they’re great for all employees. Each of the companies on this list has been commended by their female employees for going above and beyond to ensure fair treatment in recognition, training, and promotion opportunities.'
