The new £4.5 million financing package helps Gravity Drinks meet seasonal spikes in international demand for Christmas and New Year and supports a bold plan to gain new customers in Asia.

It's all set to be a very merry Christmas and New Year for Cheltenham drinks company Gravity Drinks.

The firm, based in Jessop Avenue in Cheltenham has secured a £4.5 million financing package to help grow its exports to US, Japan, China and Australia.

Founded in 2018 by two friends, Gravity Drinks designs and produces premium spirits, creative liqueurs and alcohol gift sets.

It already exports to global markets including USA, Canada, Scandinavia, Taiwan, Japan, and New Zealand, selling its premium spirit and liqueur brands to large overseas retailers.

Seasonal demand for its drinks means the business needs additional working capital to ramp up production in the run-up to Christmas and New Year.

Gravity Drinks has already used the financing to make Christmas shipments, producing 35,000 units of Costco’s annual 'Whisky Tour of the World' advent calendar, which has been a sell-out in 2024.

The business has also used the finance to launch a number of new products and white labelling for international customers in Asia.

The funding supports Gravity Drinks in continuing its year-on-year revenue growth since it was founded in 2018, with a total order value of just under £8 million booked in 2024.

New financing also brings new equipment and the creation of new roles at its Cheltenham offices.

Director at Gravity Drinks, Jim Denoon, said: 'With continued demand from our customers in the UK and overseas, having the right partners in place to help finance our growth is crucial to our business.'

The finance package comes from HSBC and Government export credit agency, UK Export Finance (UKEF).

Export finance manager for London at UKEF, Hitesh Patel, said: 'Gravity Drinks has taken the time to really understand local seasonal celebrations globally and tailored drinks solutions to capture its audience.

'UKEF’s deals support smaller businesses like Gravity, ensuring entrepreneurs from all over the country can benefit from international trade.'

HSBC UK relationship manager, Campbell Chisholm, added: 'We’re excited to see Gravity Drinks taking its fantastic products to new markets. I am delighted the company’s growth is supporting the local economy through the creation of new jobs.'
