The Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce, which is based in the town centre municipal building on the Promenade, has announced the appointment of a new deputy chief executive officer, Sarah Cook.
Sarah's role will support Michael Ratcliffe, CEO of the chamber, and will focus on strategic business planning.
Sarah, who has also been managing director of HR People Support in Cheltenham since 2018, said: 'Since its establishment in 1902, the Chamber has served as a pivotal force within the Cheltenham business community.
'For some 120 years, our focus is committed to addressing the evolving challenges faced by businesses and fostering growth in our town. It's my pleasure to share that our future looks bright, guided by our executive team — a dedicated ensemble of volunteers poised to lead us toward a promising horizon.
'Our vision for the next five years focuses on modernisation, aiming to cement our position as a leading business organisation in Gloucestershire. We are most committed to being the voice for our members, developing policies and offering support which promotes your business growth.'
The Chamber of Commerce, which has been active for 122 years and is run by volunteers, services the business community in Gloucestershire with business networking events and seminars; support, advice and training to help member businesses grow; and policy development.
Members cover a wide spectrum of industries, including property and construction, marketing and public relations, telecoms and communications, professional services, recruitment, not-for-profit organisations and business consultancy.
