Tonight’s episode of The Apprentice should see Cheltenham cocktail bar owner, Sophie Wilding, in her element, as the remaining candidates have been tasked with creating a non-alcoholic drink brand.

So far, the girls’ team remains unbeaten, having won both previous challenges – coming up with marketing campaigns for a new cruise liner and designing an electric toothbrush for children.

Whether Wilding steps up to lead the latest task has not been revealed. Although if previous series have been anything to go by, there’s still a chance the best (man or) woman for the job won’t put themselves forward – or won’t be voted in as project manager by their teammates. She certainly knows her stuff when it comes to cocktails… alcoholic or otherwise.

Her boutique bar in Cheltenham recently celebrated its first anniversary – an impressive feat given Alan Sugar’s own admission in the first episode that ‘due to the pandemic, the world of business is tougher than it’s ever been before’.

Inspired by her passion for all things magical and featuring an ‘illusion booth’ for enjoying love potions and cocktails garnished with feathers, Imperial Haus promises ‘an enchanted experience at every level’.

One thing is for sure, if the qualified witch can conjure up her wealth of expertise in cocktail-making for the task tonight, Lord Sugar will be sipping on the most magical mocktail imaginable this Dry January.

The Apprentice airs at 9pm on Thursday 20 January 2022 on BBC One and iPlayer.
