Lorrin White has announced that she is stepping down as chief executive officer of leading IT and communications specialist, Bamboo Technology.
White made the announcement in a relaxed and personable post on LinkedIn, revealing her plans and the name of her successor.
Stuart Davis, founder and executive chairman, will be stepping in as CEO with White continuing as the Cheltenham-based firm’s director of communications. Kevin Harris remains as managing director.
‘I am now going to step away from the executive board team and hang up my director’s hat, jacket and heels,’ said White, who was recently featured in SoGlos’s round up of 16 pioneering female-led Gloucestershire businesses.
‘The last two years have been difficult for everyone and that has been no exception for us. But we have pressed forward with acquisition and integrations, we have moved the office and we have continued to develop our team and our proposition.
‘I feel we have managed to serve all our stakeholders interest and I am delighted to say that through all of that we have managed to keep our principles and integrity intact.’
White started at the Cheltenham firm in 2002 and has been on its board for 14 years, rising through the ranks to become managing director in 2014.
Under White, Bamboo Technology has gone from strength to strength, having recently announced its acquisition of Worcestershire-based TechTeam Limited, which follows on from its takeover of Cheltenham-based Tech Ops Solutions in 2019.
The firm, now headquartered at Gloucestershire College’s Cheltenham campus alongside Hub8, has not ruled out more acquisitions as it continues to establish itself as a key player in the growing cyber sector, emerging in the county ahead of the Golden Valley Development.
