Applications to the Gloucestershire Growth Hub for the new Covid-19 recovery grants were paused just over an hour after opening on Monday 28 September 2020.
SoGlos reported that applications for Gloucestershire SME recovery grants would open in September 2020, with Gloucestershire Growth Hub planning to distribute a total of £464,655 to as many applicants as possible, with an estimated grant of £3,000 available to up to 150 businesses.
Launched at 10am, within 65-minutes 200 applications had been received, with the online application then paused.
Growth Hub manager, Alex Cottrell, explained the reasoning behind the applications being paused: ‘We have done this for two reasons. Firstly, to make sure that businesses do not waste valuable time completing an application when funds may already be allocated, and secondly, to allow our teams to go through the first 200 submissions and assess them in terms of the grant type, amount requested and project eligibility.’
Once the original batch of applications have been assessed, a second round of applications may open.
