All categories in the inaugural SoGlos Gloucestershire Business Awards have now been backed by a high calibre and diverse range of sponsors from across the county’s business community.

Set to become the definitive event in Gloucestershire’s business calendar, SGGBA headline sponsors, GFirst LEP and The Growth Hub, have now been joined by 15 other category sponsors.

From the Business of the Year category, supported jointly by the headline sponsors, the event will also see a shortlist of entries vying for titles including Family Business of the Year (sponsored by QuoLux), New Business of the Year (Bamboo), Growth Business of Year (Willans LLP) and Green Business of the Year (Ecotricity).

SoGlos co-founder, James Fyrne, said: ‘We promised we would create an event to recognise and celebrate the amazing success stories which fuel and inspire our local economy, and the willingness to help us do just that has been amazing.

‘We have been overwhelmed by the desire to support the new awards and by the calibre of the names which have stepped forward to partner and make it all possible.

‘The awards will help us showcase the incredible spectrum of business and individual talent here in Gloucestershire.

‘And now we also have our judges panel, it is really gearing up to be every bit the fantastic showpiece event we promised.’

Awards and sponsors also include Most Innovative Business of the Year (Hartpury), Employer Engagement Award (Hazlewoods), Best Place to Work (Brunsdon Financial), Corporate Social Responsibility (RockWealth), Customer Excellence (Gloucestershire College), International Business (Barclays), Pivoting Business (Evans Jones), Entrepreneur of the Year (University of Gloucestershire), Employee of the Year (GB Solutions), Heritage Business of the Year (Hewer FM) and Business Leader Award (Gloucestershire County Council).

Nominations will be welcomed from March to June 2021, with a shortlist of three businesses in each category then considered by a judging panel of experts from GFirst LEP, The Growth Hub, SoGlos and category sponsors in July.

Plans are for sponsors, finalists and special guests to gather for a celebratory evening of networking, supper, drinks and the live reveal of the overall winners, subject to current government guidelines, at a venue and date to be confirmed.
