Cotswolds firm McGills is joining forces with leading south west accountants, Monahans, this August 2024.
The chartered accountants, which has offices in Cirencester, Malmesbury and Fairford, has a longstanding relationship with Monahans, which it says offers 'the perfect fit' as it seeks to expand its services and expertise.
The firm is continuing to trade under the McGills name, though its three current partners, Simon Nuttall, Sharla Dandy and Helen Jones, are taking up similar roles within Monahans.
McGills, founded in Cirencester in 1966, offers a broad mix of services for private clients and businesses from construction and manufacturing to retail and hospitality, including accounting software; accounts and tax services; and business support and advice.
With 10 offices across the south west including in Swindon, Bath and Chippenham, Monahans provides a range of specialised services including corporate finance; audit; business recovery and insolvency; HR services; and probate.
From its foundations of supporting local communities, the firm now benefits from national and international expertise as a member of Prime Global, an award-winning, worldwide association of independent accounting and business advisory firms.
McGills says that for its existing clients, there will no changes to its original team or fee structure as a result of the merger with Monahans, but they will be able to access new expertise and services via the coming together of the two practices.
Simon Nuttall said: 'We are delighted to be joining forces with the team at Monahans.
'They have a great culture, which reflects our own beliefs and drive for quality, as well as a shared dedication to our clients. We think this move will be great for us, our clients and our local communities.'
Monahans’ managing partner, Simon Tombs, said: 'McGills has been providing excellent financial and business advice to organisations in the Cotswolds for more than half a decade, with an unrivalled reputation in the region.
'The firm complements Monahans in its expertise and shares the same focus on providing an excellent service for its clients.'
