The chartered accountants, which has offices in Cirencester, Malmesbury and Fairford, has a longstanding relationship with Monahans, which it says offers 'the perfect fit' as it seeks to expand its services and expertise.

McGills says that for its existing clients, there will no changes to its original team or fee structure as a result of the merger with Monahans, but they will be able to access new expertise and services via the coming together of the two practices.

Simon Nuttall said: 'We are delighted to be joining forces with the team at Monahans.

'They have a great culture, which reflects our own beliefs and drive for quality, as well as a shared dedication to our clients. We think this move will be great for us, our clients and our local communities.'
