Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for people across Gloucestershire to participate in a new Covid-19 study.
The ComFluCOV study – which is a collaboration between the University of Bristol, University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Oxford – is looking into the effects of having the second Covid-19 vaccination at the same time as the flu vaccination, with the aim of easing the strain on the NHS by combining the two vaccinations into one appointment.
People aged 18 and over, who have already had their first dose of either the Pfizer/BioNTech or Oxford/AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccination are eligible to apply – with people of colour and those with underlying health conditions who would normally be offered a flu vaccination particularly encouraged to take part.
The study hopes to enrol 504 participants in total, with those accepted having to attend three study appointments at their nearest participating hospital and keep an online diary for seven days after the first two appointments.
It will take approximately six weeks to complete the study from the date of the first to the third and final appointment.
