How can you help people planning a wedding?
Our business is a screen printing and embroidery company, but we specialise in garment decoration. Quite often that does mean workwear for businesses or clothing brands, but we love working on more unique projects too.
So, when it comes to weddings, we can start working with a couple right from the early planning stages looking at invites and stationery, right through to sorting them out with bespoke hen and stag t-shirts!
What kind of items can people get personalised when planning a wedding?
With us, it’s always been a case of saying yes, and then asking what the question is! Anything is possible, and we love a challenge.
We’ve done some really cool things for weddings over the years though. We designed some invites for a music themed wedding; the couple wanted them to look like something you’d pick up at a festival, so we designed lots of smaller pages that were all laminated and strung together on a lanyard that guests could wear.
We’ve also done embroidered aprons for the bride to wear during the wedding breakfast, so she didn’t ruin the dress! We’ve designed and printed wedding timetables and table plans on quite a large-scale, that was using sign writing and Perspex.
We’ve even done tablecloths. More commonly they’re used by businesses for events shows, but there’s no reason that you couldn’t have your wedding logo or theme colours printed onto the tablecloths, or even your suit pockets – as another way to make the groomsmen match the theme!
Do people tend to come to you with an idea or design in mind?
Nine times out of 10, people will come in with a drawing on a piece of paper, but for those who don’t have anything specific in mind, we do offer a design service too, as both myself and Kelsey who works here are qualified graphic designers.
We’ll meet with the customers and talk through all their ideas, then we create that design digitally, so it can be printed on whatever they need.
Do people need to have huge orders to be able to take advantage of your services?
We do have larger clients, so we’re used to fulfilling big orders on a business level, but we also like to get involved with smaller orders for things like stag and hen dos, or start-up clothing brands.
Those people will come in and they’re not looking to spend loads of money, but they can sometimes be the most interesting projects to work on. There’s no minimum order, so we’ve been known to do single personalised items in the past.
What makes Guano Crazy different from online printing companies?
We know how important weddings can be, and the pressure to get things right is immense! So, we pride ourselves on giving the personal touch.
We quite often send over updates saying ‘here’s the latest on your design’ and send over an image, or ‘we’ve been embroidering your hat, here’s a video!’
Because most things are designed in house, we can make things really unique too, so it’s not just the generic, off-the-shelf designs that you’d get if you used a website.
