From taking school trips up mountains to learning how to teach English as a foreign language, no two days are the same at Rendcomb College.
Talking to head girl Anna and head boy Alfie at the independent school, SoGlos found out what a day in the life of a Rendcomb College student is really like.

How did you become head girl and head boy?
Anna: First we have to apply to be a prefect and only 13 students are chosen out of the whole year to be prefects. As a prefect you have to talk about what you’d like to do as head girl.
What’s a typical day like for you at Rendcomb College?
Anna: Normally we have a few lessons and non-contact periods where we can get our work done. We have sport and towards the end of the day we can choose to do an activity or choose to go home.
Is there a moment that either of you will remember from your time at Rendcomb College?
Alfie: I’ve only been here for a year but I think becoming head boy and a prefect is definitely something I’ll take away. I’m also going on a month-long school trip this summer to tour Mont Blanc.
Anna: For me as well, it’s some of the trips. I’ve been to Germany for a Lacrosse tour and I recently went to Spain.
What’s the coolest thing that you can study at Rendcomb?
Anna: It’s more the stuff we do outside of the classroom, I’m currently doing a teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) course in my own time and that was organised by the school.
Anna: As a sixth former you can also run your own club. I run an art activity for students in year seven to year nine.
Alfie: There’s something for everyone really. You can do shooting or science club.
What’s your favourite part of the day?
Alfie: I do like a Wednesday afternoon double games session; I think that really splits the week up nicely.
Anna: My activities are at the end of the day are my favourite. I’m doing a sports development programme.
Can you tell us something we don’t know about Rendcomb College?
Alfie: It really feels like a family. Having a smaller school means everyone can talk to everyone and gives it a really friendly environment.
Anna: Next year we’re celebrating our centenary. There will be so much going on – there’s balls and events and lots to look forward to. There will also be lots of things the public can come along to.
