Getting married in Gloucestershire? Make the most of your surrounds with venues offering views of the rolling countryside around Cheltenham, Stroud, Tetbury and the Forest of Dean.

From rolling countryside to hillside views and luscious lawns, Gloucestershire is brimming with beautiful wedding venues, boasting some of the most impressive views around. To get those stunning wedding photographs, we’ve handpicked our favourite venues with amazing views.

Eastwood Park

Overlooking Berkeley Vale, Eastwood Park’s vine covered country house sits on an estate of some 200 acres, beyond which are fields and rolling hills for as far as the eye can see.

The Drawing Room is the most popular ceremony room, offering views of the grounds and surrounding countryside from its floor-to-ceiling windows.

Meanwhile, weddings on the larger side can hire the Eastwood Terrace room, which has access to a terrace with panoramic views – ideal for photos, reception drinks and barbecues.

Elmore Court

Surrounded by beautiful countryside, Elmore Court in Stroud is committed to the environment, with parts of the estate given over to rewilding.

The main house offers rooms with views over the gardens, but also gives couples the option of getting hitched outside, if they wish.

Years ago, Elmore Court featured in an episode of Channel 4’s Country House Rescue, though you’d barely recognise the place positioning itself as an ‘unusual wedding venue’ today.

Tewkesbury Park

Nestled in the countryside, Tewkesbury Park offers panoramic views from the private wedding terrace, as well as floor-to-ceiling glass windows in the Cotswolds Suite.

A wood-fired pizza oven and oil-drum barbeques make the heated wrap-around terrace ideal for wedding photos on a sunny summer’s day – or a crisp winter’s night.

But if you’re looking for a photo opportunity away from it all, simply hop on a golf buggy to find one of the secluded spots tucked away on the hotel’s 165 acres.

Cripps Barn

Immersed in the Gloucestershire countryside, Cripps Barn is just a stone’s throw from the quaint Cotswold town of Bibury.

On sunny days, couples have the option of tying the knot outdoors, under an oak canopy in the venue’s woodland glade.

The barn’s rural setting looks beautiful in photographs all year round, while the use of fire pits in the garden help create an especially warm atmosphere for wedding celebrations.

Glenfall House

Charming gardens and a secluded setting earn Glenfall House near Cheltenham a place in our round of Cotswold venues with beautiful views.

From the sweeping drive as you pull up at the venue, to the ceremony space on the lovely lawns, Glenfall House offers gorgeously green views every way you look.

What’s more, the garden terrace is a great spot for taking in the view with a glass of bubbly after the ceremony.

Cowley Manor

Not only are the grounds of Cowley Manor near Cheltenham home to some magnificent trees from around the world, its 55 acres are said to have inspired Alice in Wonderland.

Those planning intimate weddings can hire the Garden Room, boasting beautiful panoramic views and a terrace, where guests can take in their surroundings, alongside celebratory drinks.

However, one of the most popular choices for happy couples snapping shots for their wedding album is the country house hotel’s C-Side Spa – and you can see why!

Clearwell Castle

For the full fairy-tale effect on your wedding day, a venue like Clearwell Castle in the Forest of Dean is hard to beat… turrets, portcullis and all.

Within Clearwell’s 20 acres, you’ll find a licensed bandstand for outside ceremonies, as well as a lake for capturing Kodak moments, while the lawns can be used for playing garden games.

Hosting weddings throughout the year, the award-winning Clearwell Castle and its manicured grounds are equally as striking in spring, summer, autumn and winter!

Matara

Set in 28 acres of parkland near Tetbury, Matara is a wedding venue where every couple that ties the knot is honoured with their own tree with a plaque.

Within the grounds of Matara’s Grade II listed Regency house, the founder has also created various magical gardens, including the Chinese-inspired Cloistered Courtyard with carp pond.

When they’re not being used for private events, the gardens are open to the public, so you can scope out the most scenic locations for your photos in advance.

The Great Tythe Barn

Located near Tetbury, The Great Tythe Barn is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with lawns for drinks and games, as well as two areas within the gardens licensed for ceremonies.

Hosting some 130 weddings per year, the barn itself – together with various other farm buildings – have been transformed to create a unique venue with accommodation for guests.

It even won ‘Best Countryside Venue in the South West 2020 and Best Barn Venue in the South West 2021 in The Wedding Industry Awards.

Sudeley Castle

Nestled in the Cotswold hills, ‘the most romantic castle in England’ with its award-winning gardens certainly has the wow factor.

Whether planning an intimate wedding, or to celebrate your nuptials in the presence of 600 friends and family, Sudeley Castle promises to make couples feel like kings and queens.

Romantic ruins and 1,200 acres of grounds offering breath-taking valley views provide no end of stunning photo opportunities.

Hilles House

Positioned high enough above the Stroud Valley to enjoy views across five counties, Hilles House offers itself up as a wedding venue for hire from May to September.

The garden allows guests to make the most of the spectacular scenery, whether playing outdoor games on the lawns or enjoying drinks on the terrace.

Set on an estate of 1,000 acres, Hilles House is a popular choice for outdoor weddings, with glamping overnight also an option for guests.
