Here are eight of the best places for pancakes in the county to enjoy on Pancake Day, which falls on Tuesday 4 March 2025 this year.

Pancakes at The Curious Café and Bistro in Cheltenham

The Curious Café and Bistro on Cheltenham’s Bath Road serves up buttermilk pancakes for breakfast, topped with maple syrup and rashers of bacon, or fresh berries and Chantilly cream. With stacks like this, it's no surprise it was named SGGLA Café of the Year in 2022!

Pancakes at Luxe Café in Cirencester

Visit Cirencester’s Luxe Café for American-style pancake stacks that are just as Instagrammable as its interior, with the option to get them drizzled with Biscoff, covered in Kinder Bueno-flavoured sauce or topped with Oreo white chocolate!

Pancakes at SISU Pancakes

A twist on the traditional, SISU makes incredible pancake cakes stacked high and sandwiched with buttercream in a range of flavours including creme brulee, pistachio and Nutella. Find this pancake powerhouse at its flagship Cheltenham store or recently opened kiosk at Gloucester Quays.

Pancakes at WoodKraft in Cheltenham

Pancake lovers are in for a treat at this bustling brunch spot on Cheltenham's Regent Street, with WoodKraft serving up buttermilk pancakes with an ever-changing menu of toppings. Expect combos like banana miso caramel or Baked Alaska-inspired stacks, while diners have been able to enjoy flavours like chocolate orange and lemon meringue in the past.

Pancakes at Spago Creperia in Gloucester

Choose from all kinds of crepes at Spago at Bakers Quay, with savoury options like smoked salmon and cream cheese; chorizo with roasted pepper, egg and brie; and Serrano ham, mozzarella, sundried tomatoes and pesto. For the sweet-toothed, there's jam, Nutella, peanut butter and banana, or caramel sauce with the choice of caramelised apples or pears and a dusting of cinnamon.

Pancakes at Bill's at Gloucester Quays

Bottomless pancakes? Say no more. Every day from 3pm to 5pm, this popular chain serves up pancake after pancake, so you can really stack 'em up; while kids will love building their own with creative toppings from the Pancake Parlour. Better still, this year Bill's is celebrating Pancake Day with a limited edition Biscoff Apple flavour, available from Monday 3 to Friday 7 March 2025.

Pancakes at The Roastery in Quedgeley

If last-minute pancakes are calling, The Roastery runs a walk-ins only service. Not only is the coffee good, its buttermilk pancake stacks are generously topped with your choice of bacon, blueberries and maple syrup or seasonal fruits, Greek yoghurt and granola, with plenty of choice for kids, too.
